Abstract

Binding - posts and terminals.-A terminal for an electric resistance of the kind comprising a wire embedded in magnesium oxide within an enclosure is of tubular construction, the central aperture being utilized for the passage of steam in producing the oxide matrix from magnesium in the usual manner. The resistance wire 4 may be inserted in the terminal 1 or may be external thereto and may extend the whole length of the terminal. As shown in Fig. 1 the terminal tube in an insulating block 3 is secured in the end of a tubular resistance' casing 2 by deforming the latter. The external leads are inserted in the tube 1 and secured by welding or brazing.
