Abstract
190.178. Zonder, N. Dec. 12. 1921, [Convention date]. Electric stoves.-A ring-shaped element for electric heating-apparatus is made of thermal and electric insulating-material, with one face in the form of a re-entrant truncated cone, and is provided with radial grooves to receive a resistance wire 2, Figs. 2 and 3. A number of units may be arranged upon a base plate to form a cooking- stove of large area, or may be arranged one upon another within a cavity in a base of refractory material, the metal sleeves of the various unitsbeing suitably linked together. Fig. 7 shows a number of units superposed within a casing 14 having an external sleeve 15 for attachment to an electric lampholder. An axial conducting rod 16 connects the sleeve 15 with one end of thewire upon the most distant unit, and other rods 17 passing through the holes 8 of the various units are connected to contact studs 18 at the end of the casing in such a way that the number of units in circuit can be varied by an external contact arm 19.
