Receiving-sets, construction of.-A resistance for use in a wireless circuit is provided with a metallic shield which surrounds and is electrically connected with the resistance. In the form shown the resistance 1 is wound on a wooden spool 2, one end 2a of which is made larger than the other 2b, and the cylindrical shield 3 is constructed with a closed end 3<a> through which a securing-screw 4a passes, the screw serving as one terminal of the resistance. A similar screw 4<b> forms the other terminal. In a modification, the end of the shield is made as a separate cap, it being held in position by the screw 4a. In making the connection, the shielded end should be connected to the anode. Specification 283,993 is referred to.
