Wire resistances mounted on grooved surfaces. -An electric heating element comprises a number of refractory bars A<1>, A<2>, having hooks E for anchoring the resistance wire F, successive hooked bars having their hooks facing reversely and a number of slotted bars B<1>, B<2> placed between the hooked bars. Slots G in the bars run parallel with the wires F and are parabolic in shape at the bottom, adjacent wires being entirely separated. All the bars are threaded upon bolts D<1>, D<2>.
