Abstract

219,010. Grau, H. July 10, 1923, [Convention date]. Wire resistances, encased and mounted on grooved surfaces.-An electric heater comprises a plate 1 of heat-proof and non-conducting material provided with parallel grooves 2 of trapezium-shape in cross section engaged by a resistance wire 3 of greater diameter than the width of the grooves, the wire being held in position by a flanged plate 5 separated from the wire by a sheet 4 of mica or the like. The plate may be made of a shape suitable for baking and roasting furnaces or a glossing iron and may be wired in star or delta fashion for connection to a three-phase system.
