Abstract

351,169. Wire resistances. CREDENDA CONDUITS CO., Ltd. and DAVIS, P. W., Rood End Road, Oldbury, Birming- ham. May 6, 1930, No. 13849. [Class 37.] An electric heating device, more particularly for a domestic oven, consists of an electric resistance h contained within a metallic tubular housing a, and insulated therefrom by perforated beads g of cup shape, which are assembled base to rim. The tubular housing may be of undulating, circular, or scroll form. Two or more tubes a may be arranged in square or rectangular formation, or a number of parallel tubes may be connected to a common housing, one part of an electric coupling, to which the resistance wires are connected, being situated either in the common housing, or in one side of the rectangle or square. The heating element with its insulating beads may be contained between two sheet metal pressings, a recess being formed in one or both, so that when they are assembled, a composite tubular formation is obtained. The Provisional Specification states that tubes of insulating material may be used, instead of beads.
