Abstract

410,712. Wire resistances. ANGELL, F., 75, Rosebery Road, Muswell Hill, London. Jan. 2, 1934, No. 119. Addition to 375,054. [Class 37.] In a heating device comprising a grooved refractory ceramic plate and a resistance coil embedded in refractory cement in the grooves, an earthed metal structure is also embedded in the grooves in the cement. The earthing structure may consist of a fine wire a number of wires woven into a tape, and a flat spiral. Alternatively the resistance coil may be threaded through insulating beads or tubes and the earthing wire coiled over the beads. A metal ring is arranged over the rim of the refractory plate and a heat haffle plate is arranged under the plate and secured to the ring. The cement is pressed into the grooves by means of a tool shaped to the contour thereof.
