Direct connections between conductors.- In electric resistances consisting of a thin layer of conducting substance on the surface of a glass or like insulating rod to ends of which wire leads are attached a portion of the wire lead is embedded in the material of the rod. The wire 2 is bent as shown and enters the end of the rod 1, the portion 4 being fused into the rod. The end of the wire emerges from the side of the rod and is wrapped round it to make contact with the conducting coating.
