Abstract

Couplings and connectors. - A soldering-iron comprises an electric resistance 11 carried by means of a helix connected to a handle 31. The ends of the resistance wire are folded on themselves, twisted and secured in terminals 13, 14 by swaging over the edges of the grooves in the terminals in which the twisted ends are placed. The terminals are passed through articulated insulators 36 and secured by binding, to a fibre &c. strip 39, having holes through which flex may be led in order to be connected by twisting and binding to the terminals on opposite sides of the strip, the end of the strip seating against a shoulder in the handle.
