Abstract

362,919. Impression cylinders. ROBINSON, L. T. A., 5, Arundel Street, Strand, London. Sept. 10, 1930; No. 27058. [Class 100 (ii).] A blanket is mounted on an impression cylinder by securing one end between a pair of bars adapted to be housed within ar undercut recess in one wall of a gap in the cylinder the other end of the blanket being secured to a rotatable blanket stretching device. A narrow gap 2 in the cylinder 1 extends into a boring 12 which is offset to one side of the gap and forms a bearing for circular collars 16 secured to the ends of a square shaft 13 provided with a slot to receive one end of the blanket 3. The opposite end of the blanket is'secured between a pair of bars 9, 10 housed in a recess in the wall of the gap. Tension is applied to the blanket by turning the shaft 13 from either end and the shaft is locked in position by a ratchet wheel 7 engaging a pawl 6.
