349,921. Printing-machines. ADDRESSOGRAPH CO., 901, West Van Buren Street, Chicago, U.S.A. Jan. 31, 1930, No. 6948/31. Divided on 348,025. [Class 100 (ii).] Impression surfaces. - An impression cylinder which is to be used in connection with the printing-cylinder described in Specification 349,922 and the printing - machine described in Specification 348,025 is constructed with means for securing the impression blanket 14 around the flange 4 of the cylinders comprising a wedge 13a secured by screws 15 in a corresponding recess in a part 8 of the cylinder and serving to clamp one end of the blanket 14 in position. The other end of the blanket is connected by a screw clamp 18 to a block 16 formed with rack teeth 22 engaged by the teeth 23 of a pinion 24 mounted in an enlarged part 7 of the cylinders. The pinion 24 is prevented from axial movement by a pin and groove, and is formed with a tool grip 29 to receive an actuating-tool. Reverse rotation of the pinion 24 is prevented by a ratchet 27 engaged by a pawl 30 acted on by a spring 32. The clamp 18 is formed with projections which are received in guides in a wall of the recess 9 of the cylinder, and by moving the clamp 18 and block 16 in the recess 9, tension is put on the blanket. In order to permit of adjustment of the blanket, the cylinder 4 is connected to its shaft 5 by means of a pivoted dog 33 which normally engages a recess in the shaft. By moving the dog, the cylinder can be disengaged from its shaft temporarily as required, and restored to its original position.
