Abstract

1,216,330. Printing-apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FALLERT & CO. A.G. 28 Dec., 1967, No. 58769/67. Heading B6C. A rotary offset printing machine having a plate cylinder 3 and an offset roller 2 is provided with a pair of rollers 7, 8 adapted to supply ink to the plate cylinder when it is rotated clockwise and dampening fluid when it is rotated anticlockwise, and a pair of rollers 4, 5 adapted to supply dampening fluid to the cylinder when it is rotated clockwise and ink when it is rotated anticlockwise. When the machine is changed from clockwise rotation of the plate cylinder, Fig. 1, to anticlockwise rotation, Fig. 2 (not shown), a fountain roller 6 partially immersed in a dampening fountain 12 is moved, with the fountain, so that it co-operates with roller 8 instead of roller 5 and a roller 9 is moved to co-operate with roller 5 and an ink distributing roller 10 instead of with roller 8 and the roller 10. Ink is applied in each case to the cylinder by a roller 11 and the dampening fluid is always applied to the cylinder before the ink.
