Abstract

1,197,056. Printing-apparatus. TIMSONS Ltd. 3 Nov., 1967 [16 Nov., 1966], No.51257/66. Heading B6C. An offset printing machine adapted to print on both sides of a web W comprises three printing cylinders 1-3 co-operating with an offset roller 4 and a single printing cylinder 8 cooperating with an offset roller 9, the cylinders and rollers 1-4, 8 and 9 all being of the same diameter whereby they all rotate at the same speed and for each revolution of a printing cylinder each offset roller rotates through 360 degrees. The cylinders 1-3 are inked by forme rollers 5-7 with differently coloured inks and the cylinder 8 is inked by rollers 10 with ink of one colour only. The machine may alternatively print on sheets and is stated to be " dry " in that the web or sheets are in this condition before printing.
