Abstract

1,192,673. Offset rotary printing machines; inking and damping arrangements. MATH. B€UERLE G.m.b.H. 17 April, 1968 [17 April, 1967], No. 18249/68. Heading B6C. In a rotary offset machine the supply from the intermittently rotating inking duct roller 2, Fig. 1, is controllable by a rotatable disc 3 which may be set in one of three positions 5a, 5b, 5c whilst a similar rotatable disc 33, Fig. 2, is used to control the time of bridging engagement by a swinging roller 30 between a damping fountain roller 31 and a damping distributer roller 32. The roller 32 is also used to carry the ink to the plate cylinder of the machine and the drive to both inking and damping roller trains is from a continuously rotating shaft 26 carrying a cam 19. A reciprocable rod 21 is used to disconnect this cam from effective engagement with both roller trains to thereby cause simultaneous cessation of supply of ink and water.
