Abstract

1,158,056. Inking-apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 15 Feb., 1967 [19 Feb., 1966], No. 7355/67. Heading B6C. A rotary printing machine having a plate cylinder which can be rotated in either direction, is provided with an inking system, part of which can change its direction of motion in response to changes of motion of the plate cylinder, and part of which rotates in one direction only, characterized by an auxiliary motor which drives an ink distributing roller during stoppages in printing, e.g. when washing, a disengageable coupling being provided between the plate cylinder and the inking system. Fig. 1, illustrates a system wherein during printing, a gear 20 on plate cylinder 2 drives transfer rollers 6, 7 and an ink distributing roller 11, the other rollers of the system being driven by friction. On operation of a push-button (not shown), a clutch (21) (Fig. 3, not shown) disengages the drive between cylinder 2 and the inking system, the forme rollers 3, 4, 5 are withdrawn from plate cylinder 2, an auxiliary motor (28) (Fig. 2, not shown) is started which drives distributing roller 11, and, preferably a washing device is brought into an operative position while the ink duct 12 is slid into a washing position.
