368,987. Printing processes. WILSON, J. F. and MUNRO, Ltd., R. W., 103, Cornwall Road, South Tottenham, London. March 13, 1931, No. 7842. [Class 100 (ii).] Blankets.-A blanket is secured to an impression cylinder 1 at one end by a rotary element and at the other by a clamping-bar 5, provided with clamping-bolts 8 having hooked or otherwise shaped ends 10, which embrace eccentric portions 11 on a rotatable rod 12, housed in the cylinder and having means for retaining it in the adjusted position. The rotary element comprises a slotted rod 21 enclosed in a split tube 22, into which the end of the blanket is inserted, and the rod 21 is formed with an eccentric portion 23, so that on rotation thereof the blanket is drawn into the tube 22 until gripped between the portion 23 and the adjacent side of the tube, when continued rotation winds the blanket on the tube. Ratchet devices 17, 24 hold the rods 12, 21 against backward rotation, and both rods may be formed with squared ends. The tube 22 may be provided with means to hold or rotate it independently of the rod 21, and if desired the tube 22 and rod 21 may be rotated in the opposite direction to that indicated to wind the blanket on the tube after the end has been nipped, the ratchet wheel being modified accordingly.
