Abstract

359,807. Inking-apparatus. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Wood Newspaper Machinery Corporation; 501, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Dec. 31, 1930, No. 39275. [Class 100 (ii).] In inking - apparatus comprising an ink cylinder and forme roller means are provided on the cylinder and roller beyond their inked surface for driving the forme roller from the cylinder by surface contact therewith. The ink cylinder 10 is provided with a cylindrical extension 14 at one end which contacts with a similar extension 13 provided at one end of the forme roller 11 for the purpose of driving the forme roller. These surfaces 13, 14 are uninked and grooves 15, 16 are provided to prevent ink from spreading on to the driving surfaces. The extensions are of the same diameter as the inked portions. In the example shown the ink cylinder drives two forme rollers which ink the printing-cylinder 12.
