[Class 123 (i).] A rigid metal to metal closure for coke ovens or retorts comprises a rigid metal door 7 which has a flange 7b pressed against a flexible sheet metal seat 4 in the door frame 3 by a locking bar 9 with tightening bolts 11. Alternatively, the flexible strip may be mounted in the door, and the flange provided on the door frame.
