[Class 123 (i)] [See also Group XII] A door for a coke oven or gas generator comprises a door plate 14, and a refractory liner carried by a holder 15, a resilient metal web 20 carrying a blade 23 being clamped between the plate and holder and providing a metallic packing. Screws 26 in a flange of the door plate press the edge of the blade 23 against the door frame 11. The flange 141 at the bottom of the door has rounded lugs 42 bearing on the door frame 12, the inward gravitational pull of the door holding it in position until it is locked by the usual cross bar.
