487,579. Hinges. SOC. OF CHEMICAL INDUSTRY IN BASLE. Dec. 2, 1937, No. 33351. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1936. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge for a gas tight door e, having a number of fastening devices f and elastic packing k between it and the frame a, has tightening means in the form of an eccentric bush m, to which is attached an operating handle n, placed removably on each hinge pin d. Rotation of the bush m causes the part of the hinge g attached to the door to move towards the frame. The hinge pin d is made eccentric to the part r which is rotatable in the eye c fixed to the frame a. By loosening the nut s and rotating the part r, the distance . between the frame a and the pin d and thus the tightening action of the bush can be adjusted.
