Abstract
468,276. Coke-oven doors. WILPUTTE, L. N. Jan. 2, 1936, No. 28791. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1935. Divided out of 468,412. [Class 55 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] The door frame member E of a coke oven is secured in place by clamps F which are held by bolts G in members d of the buckstays D. Each door frame is provided with adjustable flange portions e at its sides which abut a packing e<1> coacting with the edge of the flash plate C retained by the buck stay D. The door comprises vertical channel members H, and intermediate cross frame members H<1>, H<2>, H<3>, the members H<2> providing supports for pivot pins I<1> on which are mounted the door locking levers I which engage with latch hooks I<2> welded to the door frames E. The door frames are removed, after releasing the clamps F, by the usual door handling appliance together with the door.
