Sliding bolts.-A fastening for windows and other purposes consists of two plates 3, 4 with channelled edges in which slides a bolt which may be rigid or, as shown in Fig. 8, may be formed of two members 7', 7<11> hinged together so that when the bolt is shot the part 7<11> may be turned down to abut against the upturned flange 10 to hold the bolt in place.
