340,453. Coke oven doors. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, London. - -( Otto & Co., Dr. C. ; 9, Christstrasse, Bochum, Germany.) March 18, 1930, No. 8680. [Class 55 (i).] A frame b of angular cross section is secured to the oven casing a and carries abutments c for the engagement of cross bars d which secure the outer door e. The door consists of an angular slightly elastic frame g and an elastic metal plate h, by which a gastight closure can be obtained by pressure against the frame b. A heat insulating asbestos sheet o and protecting plate p are provided. The door carries ribs i with inclined slots k, and the coal stop f is provided with brackets r and pins m engaging in the slots k, so that the stop f is free to slide upwards and outwards under pressure of the coal. The outer door is pressed against its seating by eccentric bolts r passing through brackets q carried by the frame g, and through rectangular blocks u in recesses t in the bars d.
