Abstract
361,641. Oil engines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES., 7, Stadtbachstrasse, Augsburg, Germany. Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36778. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1929. [Class 7 (iii).] In an internal-combustion engine a fuel pump a is operated by means of a cam f on the engine crank web e acting on a lever h, pivoted on a spindle i and connected by a link j to a thrust rod k, which operates the pump plunger. A second cam f may be provided for reverse running, the lever h being moved axially by rotating and sliding the spindle i which carries a,claw for lifting the lever h off the cam. The cams f, f are secured to the crank web by screws e<1> and are circumferentially adjustable. The stroke and timing may be adjusted by means of a screw q acting on an arm h<1> of the lever h. Alternatively, the stroke of the rod k, Fig. 4, may be adjusted by means of a nut t engaging a coller s on the rod. When air injection is employed the injection valve v may be operated from a lug s<1> on the collar,s by means of a link w and lever x. In this case the engine cylinders are arranged in pairs, each cylinder being supplied with fuel by the pump of the other cylinder.
