310,954. Baron, H., (Lanz Akt.-Ges., H.). March 28, 1929. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 6, 1929]. Eccentric and lever-actuated pumps; speed and stroke, varying. - In an internal-combustion engine the fuel pumps a.re driven from an eccentric r which operates the tappet r<2> of the heavy fuel pump through a rod r<1>, and the tappet r<4> of the light fuel pump b<2> through a, rod r<3> and a lever w<3>. The pumps are controlled by a lever k attached to a shaft w to which is secured an eccentric w<1> on which is pivoted the lever w<3> and a lever w<2> carrying a wedge w<4> situated between the tappet r<2> and the piston of the heavy fuel pump. The pumps are brought into action alternatively by rotating the shaft w, which operates the eccentric w<1> to bring the lever w<3> into and out of contact with the tappet r<4> of the light fuel pump, and adjusts the wedge w<4> which, controls the stroke of the heavy fuel pump from zero to a maximum.
