Abstract
355,489. Yarn-winding machines. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.- GES., Horgen, Switzerland. Aug. 8, 1930, No. 23839. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1929. [Class 120 (ii).] The thread guide holder 1, Fig. 2, of a winding machine is pivoted at 2 and pivotally connected at 3a to a clutch slidable on a pivoted rod &c. 9 to allow the holder 1 to recede from the cop A but restraining the holder from return movement. The holder 1 is pressed towards the cop by an adjustable weight 12. The pivot connection 3a, Fig. 3, is a tube 8 fixed to a stud 3 and projecting into the clutch 4 .. 8 wherein balls 7 are wedged by a spring 6 between the rod 9 and the inner wall of the housing 4. To return the holder 1 to its starting position a lever 12a, with a fork 15 pivoted at 14 is rocked against the pressure of a spring 13 and pushes the housing 4 to release the balls. The pivot 10 of the rod 9 is adjustable in a groove in which it can be fixed by a screw, and the pivot 3a is adjustable relatively to the pivot 2, a slotted part la being fixed to the holder 1 by screws 1c passing through the slots.
