Abstract

Creel arrangements. - In winding-machines wherein yarn is wound upon a pirn or spindle from a cheese which is normally retarded by a spring-controlled brake, an additional device is provided comprising a brake-lever g engaged by the yarn, so that a brake k is automatically applied to or withdrawn from a pulley j on the cheese spindle or tube in accordance with the tension of the yarn. Normally the brake k is held away from the pulley and the cheese is braked only by the spring-controlled brake e. Stops o, which may be integral with the lever, limit the movement of the device, and the lever g may be provided with an adjustable weight n.
