Abstract

914,082. Winding yarn. METTLER'S SOHNE, MASCHINENFABRIK A.G., FR. June 8, 1961 [June 9, 1960], No. 20791/61. Class 120 (2). A winding device in which a yarn package 3 is to be formed whilst in frictional driving engagement with a grooved yarn traversing drum 4, includes means 13 on to which the yarn is placed at the beginning of the winding operation and from which the yarn drops automatically on to the grooved drum 4 after a reserve of yarn 20 has been formed at one end 19 of the bobbin. As shown, the means 13 is an externally screwthreaded part that is rotated by the movement of the yarn to cause the yarn to move to the free end of the screw and so drop on to the traversing drum 4. The yarn package is supported by two arms 1, 2, pivoted about a common axis, and the arm 1 can be moved in the direction of the arrow 7 to release the package.
