777,752. Winding yarn. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES. Jan. 25, 1955 [Feb. 13, 1954], No. 2165/55. Class 120 (2). A machine for winding cross-wound conical bobbins 2 comprises a tiltable bobbin support 4 and means to tilt the same with respect to a thread-guiding and traversing drum 1 and is characterized in that the support 4 is also associated with the means 19 for stopping the machine so that upon the machine being stopped, the support 4 is additionally displaced so as to shift the point of reversal u of the thread on the bobbin 2 towards its smaller end. As shown, a reciprocating shaft 15, through linkage 14, 12, 8, 6, 5, 4 tilts the bobbin 2 with respect to the drum 1, the lever 14 being moved by a pin and slot connections 17, 14a. When the machine is to be stopped, the lever 19 is moved and through the linkage 18, 20, 22, 14, 12, 8, 6, 5, 4 moves the bobbin 2 to the position shown in Fig. 4 so that the yarn reversal points u are moved through a distance a towards the small end of the bobbin and so prevent " overcast " threads.
