Abstract

1,060,107. Winding bobbins. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER A.G. June 22, 1965 [June 22, 1964], No. 26423/65. Heading D1J. When a yarn breaks in an automatic winding machine, a bracket y having a rigidly or lockably connected feeler 13 and a movably connected feeler 14 is moved so that feeler 13 contacts the yarn remainder on the delivery bobbin 1 and feeler 14 the bobbin itself, feeler 14 being moved by an amount depending on the size of the bobbin remainder, there being a switch 17 which is actuated by feeler 14 if the bobbin remainder is less than a prescribed amount so that a new bobbin may be inserted. In the embodiment shown each winding station has its own feeler arrangement with an electromagnet 9 being actuated on thread breakage to move the bracket into the operative testing position. Alternatively there may be a number of winding stations on a rotatable table with a single feeler arrangement which is moved into an operative position through an electromagnet arrangement when the station passes the feeler arrangement.
