Abstract

1,141,290. Winding yarns. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 29 March, 1966 [31 March, 1965], No. 13876/66. Heading D1J. An arm 2, Fig. 2, carrying a drum driven package, is pivoted on a block 5 slidable on a stationary shaft 5, stops being provided for limiting the pivotal range of the arm 2 and locking means being provided to fix the arm in a desired position. During winding the arm 2 is held, as shown in full lines, by a locking member 7 on the arm 2 engaging an upright 10 on the block 5. To doff the wound package the locking member 7 is deflected and the arm 2 is swung to the broken line position as determined by a stop 18 so that the bobbin will be clear of neighbouring bobbins being wound. The shaft 5 may be inclined to create a desired pressure between package and drive roll. A weighted cord 12 is illustrated for biassing the block 5 towards the drive roll. The cord 12 may be replaced by a spring.
