Abstract

1,031,478. Winding yarn. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Feb. 19,1963 [March 1, 1962], No. 6667/63. Heading D1J. The spool 12, driven by a drum 14, is carried by a cradle 6 pivotable about a shaft 2 as the package grows. To obtain a loosely wound package suitable for dyeing, a releasable spring 17 can be engaged with the arm 10 of the cradle 6 to reduce its loading against the drum 14. To obtain a tightly wound package the spring 17 is disengaged from the arm 10 and engaged under the hook 18. The arm 11 of the cradle can pivot away from the arm 10 when a full spool 12 has to be replaced by an empty one.
