Abstract

The winding system, to develop conical bobbins from yarn developed by an open-end spinning machine, has the friction conical drive roller mounted on a shaft, so that it can be moved axially. It butts against a pattern unit which is controlled by a roller and push arms. The system gives a maximum co-ordination between the constant tension of the yarn when wound and the constant feed speed of the yarn to the winding point to give a wound conical bobbin of constant density and shape with the wound yarn being under equal conditions throughout the package.
