A creel for each head of a condenser spinning- frame comprises a slotted plate mounted to rotate and for supporting in its slots two or more bobbins, a first stationary cam surface to engage an end of a spindle of a full bobbin to guide it into contact with a feeding-drum when the plate is rotated, and a second stationary cam surface to engage the flange of an empty bobbin, and at the same time to guide it out of contact with the drum. As shown, there are two circular plates one at each end of the head of the frame, each plate having three slots aligned with the slots in the other plate. With an empty bobbin at position 1 and filled bobbins at positions 3 and 2, when the plates are rotated by a spindle B, the spindle D of the bobbin at 3 slides down guide-surfaces E into the position 1 where the bobbin contacts a rotating feed-drum G, on shaft g while the flange of the bobbin at 1 engages surfaces F to be guided away from the drum into a doffing- position at 2. For piecing-up the material on the bobbin at 3 engages a drum H fixed to the spindle B and as the plate is rotated, a length is unwound to be pieced-up at K with the working-end from the bobbin at 1. The shafts B and g may extend through the machine and be interconnected by gearing, the drums H and G at each position being lands on these drafts. The Provisional Specification describes an arrangement where the plates are each replaced by three slotted arms.
