Abstract

350,835. Steam turbines. HENSCHEL & SOHN AKT.-GES., 2, Henschelstrasse, Cassel, Germany. Sept. 5, 1930, No. 26606. Convention date, Aug. 22. [Class 110 (iii).] A turbine D is driven by steam delivered from a main engine K at a pressure slightly above atmospheric, and exhausts to a condenser F at atmospheric pressure. The power generated by the turbine is just sufficient to drive a blower G which delivers the cooling medium, which may be air, to the condenser F. The size of the pipe C at the point O is calculated by a nozzle and output formula to give the above results. The condensate is returned to the boiler A by a pump N.
