Abstract
671,702. Steam and gas turbine plant. MASCHINENFABRIK, OERLIKON. Jan. 4, 1950 [June 9, 1949], No. 208/50. Class 110(iii) In a power plant comprising a steamraising plant I, a steam turbine plant II and a gas turbine plant III, the exhaust gases of the gas turbine plant effect intermediate superheating of the steam for the steam turbine plant and at least a part of such gases 'give off their residual heat to the combustion air for the fuel in the steam-raising plant. The steam turbine plant comprises H.P. and L.P. turbines 6, 8 respectively, a superheater 7, condenser 9 and a generator 10. The gas turbine plant comprises a compressor 11, two stage turbines 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, with individual combustion chambers 13, 13<SP>1</SP> and a generator 14. The exhaust gases flow through the superheater 7 and are then divided so that one flow passes to the grate 1 of the steamraising plant and the other flow passes to feed water heaters 15, 15<SP>1</SP> which together with an economizer reheats the condensate for the steam turbine plant. A modification uses a single gas turbine driven by air heated by the flue gas of the furnace.
