[Class 97 (i).] In spectacles of the type in which the sides are held between the two halves of a split cheek carried by the frame, the screw d holding the cheek together is held on to the half b of the cheek which receives the head of the screw d by means of a washer f, which preferably consists of soft metal and which can lie in a recess e in the half b of the cheek. The side a may also be held in the half b of the cheek which carries its supporting pin g by means of a washer h engaging a recess g<11> in the pin. For the reception of the washer h the half b<1> of the cheek may have a recess i<1>.
