Abstract
347,560. Sand-blast devices. STUG KOHLENSTAUBFEURUNG PATENTVERWERTUNG GES., Cassel, Germany. Aug. 21, 1930, No. 25009. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1929. [Class 60.] A sand - blast device for removing deposits from the walls of pulverulent-f u e l furnaces is mounted in a spherical bearing on the wall or door of the combustion chamber and comprises an inner pipe o, Fig. 2, through which sand is supplied by compressed air and an outer pipe k through which steam is supplied at high pressure. Sand is conveyed to the device from a box d, Fig. 1, by air under pressure supplied by a pipe f. The pipe k has a spherical portion i which rests in a spherical bearing in the casing p. A handle s serves to direct the blast over the desired portion of the tube wall t of the combustion chamber a. When mounted on the furnace door, the steam supply duct is provided with a spherical bearing in the pivot axis of the door.
