Abstract

1,261,412. Supplying air for combustion. WASTE COMBUSTION CORP. 8 July, 1969 [9 July, 1968], No. 36736/70. Divided out of 1,261,411. Heading F4B. An incinerator having a horizontal cylindrical casing 12 with an outer shell 18 and a refractory lining 20 has a number of spaced air admission holes 2 arranged to penetrate the shell and the casing near the lower part of the casing. A manifold 28 is connected by a flexible pipe 38 to a plenum chamber 40 for the supply of air through the holes 26, and is detachably secured to the outside of the casing 18 by straps 30 so that it may be removed to allow the holes 26 to be cleaned without shutting down the incinerator. The incinerator has fly ash collecting and secondary combustion apparatus according to parent Specification 1,261,411 and a door according to Specification 1,261,413.
