942,361. Ash removal. STAMICARBON N.V. Jan. 26, 1962 [Jan. 27, 1961], No. 3134/62. Headings F4B and F4W. A solid fuel burning furnace or stove comprises a rotary grate 1, base walls 3 and 4 which provide bearings for the shaft 2 of the grate and have ash discharge openings 5 and 6, rotary scrapers 7 and 8 keyed to the shaft 2, ratchet-wheel mechanism for rotating shaft 2 and a primary air inlet 12 between the base walls so that the ash is cooled by this primary air. The openings 5 and 6 are positioned so that ash is displaced through more than 180 degrees upon the lower wall before discharge into the ash receptacle which may be a discardable paper bag 11.
