1446072 Ash removal devices C O A EKMAN 17 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 49696/75 Divided out of 1446071 Heading F4B Ash from below the grate of a furnace of the type described in the parent Specification 1,446,071 is fed to a trough from whence it is removed by a screw conveyer 26a by pocketed rotary valves 71 mounted below slots 75 formed in a thickened portion of the air distribution chambers. The valves 71 each have a single pocket extending the full length of the valve, and the thickened portion of the furnace wall is shaped to follow closely the contours of the valves. The valves and the ash conveying screw 26a are synchronized.
