Abstract

1341617 Fluidized bed distributers BROKEN HILL PTY CO Ltd 1 Nov 1971 [10 Nov 1970] 50721/71 Heading F4B [Also in Division B1] A gas distributer for fluidized bed apparatus, 10, Fig. 1, comprises a pair of pipes 14 one disposed within the other, holes 30 in the inner pipes 15 to admit gas to the space between the pipes and holes 31, 32 in the outer pipe 16 to discharge the gas to the fluidized bed. As described a parallel array of double pipes 14, Fig. 2 is arranged at one or more levels in the fluidizing apparatus 10. The holes 30 are directed downwardly and the holes 31, 32 are arranged in pairs at points spaced by about one eighth of the circumference of the pipe 16 above the lowermost edge of the pipe, Fig. 4. The inner pipe may be arranged eccentrically. Fig. 5 (not shown).
