Abstract
1,224,743. Sintered aggregate. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 10 Dec., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 56443/67. Heading C1A. Aggregate is produced by treating the run of mine material in a coal preparation plant to separate the material into a coal fraction including also a minor proportion of stone, and a stone fraction including also a minor proportion of coal, the stone fraction is discharged on to a conveyer and the coal in the stone fraction is burnt to heat the stone, whereby the stone is sintered and formed into aggregate on the conveyer. The stone fraction is conveniently the discard from a dense medium circuit of the coal preparation plant.
