Cleaning, fluid-pressure processes for.-Relates to fluid-pressure apparatus, of the type described in Specification 8259/14, for cleaning the exterior surfaces of boiler and like tubes, and consists in locating in a recess in a side wall of the boiler a blower pipe, or pipes, which is perforated along a ridge cast on or bolted to the side of the pipe, and the jets from which issue transversely to the direction of flow of the furnace gases. The blower pipe, may be water or air-cooled. The blower pipe 4, one form of which is shown in section in Fig. 2<a>, is perforated at 20 along the ridge 19, and is mounted in the recess 5, Fig. 2, in the boiler wall 1. Means for rotating the pipe, comprising a lever 28 and stuffing- box 8, axe enclosed in the box 7, which is not open to the boiler, and which may be a separate compartment of the box 5. The blower pipe, with the box 7, may be mounted on a hinged boiler plate, simple means for uncoupling the supply pipe 11 being then provided. In alternative forms, the blower pipe may be made in two parts 40, 41, Fig. 6; or the nozzles 48, Fig. 7. may be separately secured to the ridge 19.
