Abstract

237,893. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. July 31, 1924, [Convention date]. Surface condensers.-In a surface condenser, particularly for a locomotive, exhaust steam from a pipe C<3> is passed in parallel through two or more tube nests B, B<1>, over the outside of which cooling air and cooling water are passed in parallel. The tube nests are separated by a partition E connected to a vertical partition a<1>. Air is drawn through the condenser by a fan K and passes over the nest B through an opening a<2> in the partition a<1> and over the nest B<1> through an opening between the bottom of this partition and a cooling-water tank F. Water is raised from the tank F by a pump G and distributed over the tube nests by pipes g<5>, g<6>. Condensate is passed by a pump H to the locomotive boiler.
