228,555. Aktiebolaget Ljungstr÷ms Angturbin. Jan. 30, 1924, [Convention date]. Condenser systems; jet condensers.-In an aircooled condenser for a locomotive, the tubes 9 cooled by air currents produced by fans 10 discharge into a well 16 maintained under slight vacuum, from which the water is raised by a pump 18 into the cylindrical reservoir 8 which receives the exhaust steam. The water may be sprayed through the steam from a perforated plate 12. Water is returned to the well from the reservoir through a pipe 22 controlled by a float valve 21. Steam from the reservoir 8 may be passed through the tubes 9; or the water in the reservoir may be cooled by being pumped through these tubes. Specification 213,598 is referred to.
