347,140. Facilitating changing speed. JAMES, W. V., Myrtle Grove, and ROSSER, T. B., Dillwyn Stores, both in Pontlliw, near Swansea. Jan. 22, 1930, No. 2298. [Class 80 (ii).] When change is to be made in a gear-box D on a vehicle, a pedal H is depressed, which not only disconnects the engine clutch B and isolating clutch F, but also applies brake shoes Q, R respectively to drums S, T fast on the driving and driven shafts C, E of the change-speed gearing. A link K<3> connects the two clutch systems and links K2, K<4> respectively connect the two clutch controls to the two brake shoes Q, R, which are pivoted on the gear-box or casing D.
