Abstract

378,018. Vehicle brakes. LJUNGSTRÍM, B., 83, Linnegatan, Stockholm. April 28, 1931, No. 12535. Convention date, March 9. [Class 103 (i).] The brake mechanism (not shown) of a vehicle steering wheel acts on a drum 5 secured to the wheel and is enclosed between disc members 12, 14 forming the steering swivel, or between a single disc 14 and the brake drum, the brake shoes being pivoted on either side of the steering pivot 23. The wheel is driven through a universal joint 17 and the pivot 23 is carried by the dead-axle 22 and housed in a bearing secured to the members 12, 14. The wheel rotates on a bearing 7, 9 on an extension of the members 12, 14. The steering is controlled by links 27, 28.
