372,903. Vehicle wheels ; cooling brakes. BARKER, G. G., 59, Chancery Lane, London.-(Bendix Brake Co. ; 401, North Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, U.S.A.) April 8, 1931, No. 10354. [Classes 103 (i) and 144 (i).] In a vehicle wheel provided with a brake drum 42 which is cooled by air drawn through the drum by rotation of the wheel, the rim 28 is integral with the hub 20 and the brake drum integrally connected to the rim by a web 44, provided with air passages 46, and ribs 48. A lining 50, secured to the drum by screws engaging lugs 52, is connected to the hub by an integral disc 54. This disc is provided with strengthening ribs 56 and openings 58 which enable air to pass through the drum and out through the passages 46.
