Abstract

444,528. Vehicle wheels. LIPMAN, J. F.' 59, Chatsworth Road, Kilburn, London. July 8, 1935, No. 19509. [Class 144 (i)] A detachable wheel 7, fitted over studs 2 projecting from the brake-drum &c. 1, is secured by the wedging-engagement of taper lugs 10 with slots 4 in the studs. The lugs 10 are formed on arms 9 projecting from a disc 8 which is rotatably mounted on a centre-bolt 13 on a bridge-piece 14 carried by the drum &c. 1. The disc 8 is locked in its operative position by the engagement of a spring-pressed pin 17 on the bridge 14 with an aperture 18 in the disc. The latter is manipulated by means of a tool having pins to engage the aperture 18 and a diametrically-opposite aperture 19 in the disc.
